The Records Archives of
New Jersey Big Days

The NBP Big Day Records Archive is long term project that will compile and compare Big Day data for New Jersey. Statewide big days, multi-county big days or single county big days are welcome. A Big Day represents a substantial expenditure of time, knowledge, and energy by birders, ornithologists, and naturalists. Therefore, it′s important to utilize the valuable data collected by these efforts for conservation. The primary purpose will be to detect any trends in avidiversity and make appropriate announcements to the conservation community.

We wish to compile all Big Day attempts for NJ and each of its counties. We are inviting the submission of some of your past day lists from your records. The standardization of this information will assist in the comparison of the records. With this in mind, we have designed an online Big Day Submission Form. When submitting a record, we encourage you to include a brief narrative that includes discussion of notable species, recent weather patterns, and another ecologically significant information.

We wish to compile all Big Day attempts for NJ and its counties. We are welcoming some of your past day lists from your records. If you wish to compile this data for other states, please contact us and we may be able to construct or even host the table. Initially, the archive will be hosted on this single page. In the near future, additonal pages may be created for taxon big days and other categories as needed.
